These are a pair of basic level movie utilities you may find useful with Compositor or other programs. They require Quicktime 3 or higher. These applications were written using FutureBasic^3 from Staz Software, and thus do not contain either the sloth or bleak grayness of a RealBasic application.
Artly There PICTs To Movie will roll a series of PICTs into a movie. The menu's allow for easy setting of basic compression options and frame rates. An option for adding cheap, really cheap scratches exists as well. This is a novelty effect. If you have Quicktime Pro, I suggest the options for those in there.
Artly There Movie To PICTs will decompile a movie frame by frame back into PICTs. Just choose a basic name and save away. Have plenty of disk space...there is an internal export limit of 999 frames however.
See the Help menu items, or the window directions for easy use.
Note: AT PICTs To Movie may work differently from other types of applications that do the same thing. Some require you choose a starting and ending image in the sequence.
You only need choose the last image in a sequence of properly named images here. ( Starting with Pict.01, or Pict.001, or Pict.0001 and so on) and the program will work from image 1 to the last file you have chosen. The program will smartly skip any missing or poorly named images, and will not crash as others' programs I have used tend to do in the same situation. Adding a soundtrack is not supported currently.
These are minimally featured items for basic all around use.
Enjoy. :)
